An observer (O) is located 500 feet from a school (S). The observer notices a bird (B) flying at a 39° angle of elevation from his line of sight. How high is the bird flying over the school? You must show all work and calculations to receive full credit. (picture in replies)

Do you remember your trigonometric ratios?
sin(x) = opposite/hypotenuse cos(x) = adjacent/hypotenuse tan(x) = adjacent/opposite this is where, we look from one angle, its opposite side, adjacent side, and the hypotenuse
Lel, i guess there are two ways to do it then xddd but the other way besides for the one damien said is to use the tangent ratio so \[\tan(x)=\frac{ h }{ 500 }\] and so we simplify it to \[h=\tan(39)500\] remember to do the stuff in degree mode
h=tan(39)500
