y = -f(x-4) - 2
so let's plug in some numbers to see how your new graph looks like
if we say x =4
-f(4 - 4) - 2
what is 4 - 4 =
and find the y-value on your dashed line at that x-value
and then make it positive if it's a negative number or negative if it's a positive number
and then subtract 2
that's going to be the y-value for when x = 4 on your new graph
so (4, -2) is correct now let's find another point
and remember that since the equation is -f( something )
has that minus in front, it needs to be flipped
so anyway
if we say x =6
-f(6 - 4) - 2
what is 6 - 4 =
and find the y-value on your dashed line at that x-value
and then make it positive if it's a negative number or negative if it's a positive number
and then subtract 2
that's going to be the y-value for when x = 6 on your new graph
