In the figure below, angle y and angle x form vertical angles. Angle y forms a straight line with the 60° angle and the 70° angle. A straight line is shown and is marked with three angles. The first angle measures 60 degrees. The second angle measures 60 degrees. The third angle is labeled y. The line between the 70 degree angle and angle y extends below the straight line. The angle formed is labeled angle x. Write and solve an equation to determine the measure of angle x. please help <3
Can you attach the figure?
sadly no i dont think i can
might be able to draw it tho

there :)))
That helps bring a lot more clarity to the question, thanks Do you know that all the angles on a straight line add up to 180?
i do now
Also, vertical angles are equal to each other so angle x = angle y
alright
So the sum of all the angles on a straight line is 180 |dw:1617925633857:dw|
so you got anything..?
yes i know ik
If you look at your drawing, do you see how 60, 70, and 'x' are in a straight line that means they all add up to 180 degrees can you write that as an equation?
not that i know of- like how to if you could
... how would you write it mathematically? if I say five plus five is ten then I would write that out as 5 + 5 = 10 now you know that the SUM of 60, 70 and x is 180 SUM just means addition so 60 plus 70 plus 'x' is going to equal to 180 how do you write that?
60+70+x (x=180) ?
x does not equal 180 the sum of all 3 angles equal 180
ohhhh alr so 60+70+x=180
there you go
and so to find out what x is you and 60 and 70 and then subtract from 180
exactly, you add those two values and then subtract it from 180
mk!! thank you
you're welcome
