A tutorial on how to do 2 step equations with substitution :) also I accidentally closed my post on 1-step so here is the link :). I highly recommend you read it first before tackling this https://questioncove.com/study#/updates/608dbe8b5b828f43d548ec00
First let's say we have to equations! You want to designate one as the one you will use for finding the substitution, some equations may be easier to use then others! Next, find the variable you want to substitute :)
Then with the equation you choose using the same thing we did with our 1-step equations move the side you want the variable you want to substitute to one side and everything else to the other!
Do the steps where we divide both sides by the constant the variable has you should get something like x=[insert equation]!
Then plug in what you got for the variable you want to substitute into the second equation, do what you would do for a one step equation and you should get variable=num!
Then since x=[insert equation] plug in what you got for the first variable to find x.
Here's an example x+y=20-->x=20-y 2x-y=10-->2(20-y)-y=10-->40-2y-y=10-->-2y-y=10-40-->-3y=-30-->y=10 Then x=20-y so x=20-10 x=10 as well! And if you want to check your work you can plug your variables back into your equations.
so i need ur opinions what should i do a tutorial on next?
thnxxx
thank you- that's actually what i'm on in math rn
@nishio
ok ill do that as soon as i have the chance! it's quite ez I'm sure youll get it!
it takes time but i'm sure you'll get it!
