A researcher measures the pulse rates of first-generation immigrants from India and first-generation immigrants from Indonesia. In this example the independent variable is: Group of answer choices Generation of immigration Pulse rate Country emigrated from Years since immigration

AZ:

We have two things: We're measuring the pulses of first generation immigrants from India AND Indonesia Think about this experiment. We have Indian and Indonesian immigrants and we're measuring their pulses to compare them. The independent variable is something that is independent. You can change the independent variable and see the effects of what you're measuring (aka the dependent variable) So for example, if we're measuring the heights of plants that are given just water or they're given water and sunlight the height is the dependent variable the water + water with sunlight are your independent variable

AZ:

You're measuring the pulse of Indian and Indonesian immigrants Is the pulse the dependent or independent variable? If you change their country, will that have an impact on their pulse? Or is it the other way around? So is pulse the dependent or independent variable? And what would that make their ethnicity/nationality then?
