Anthony22054:

snowflake0531:

\[(2x+2)(3x^2-6x-7)\\2x(3x^2)+2x(-6x)+2(-7)+2(3x^2)+2(-6x)+2(-7)\] Can you simplify that?

Anthony22054:

its a lol confusing

snowflake0531:

Do you know how to multiply the terms together?

Anthony22054:

not really

snowflake0531:

Let's first take \(2x(3x^2)\) you can interpret this as \((2)(3)(x)(x)(x)\) because by the associative property or whatever that is, the things that are multiplied together can be switched in places, and also, x^2 is x times x and \((2)(3)(x)(x)(x)\) becomes \(6x^3\)

snowflake0531:

do you see how that works? The second one \(2x(-6x)\) an be interpreted as \((-1)(2)(6)(x)(x)\) which is \(-12x^2\) Can you do this rest?

Anthony22054:

yes

snowflake0531:

Okay and after you figure out the product of each, tell me what you get

Anthony22054:

am i right with b

snowflake0531:

No... can you just solve it regularly and not guess around?

Anthony22054:

i wasnt ill try again

snowflake0531:

Well, simplify this \[2x(3x^2)+2x(-6x)+2(-7)+2(3x^2)+2(-6x)+2(-7)\]

Anthony22054:

Its c

snowflake0531:

yes it is, and sorry i don't think i got the notification o-0
