Astrid1:

Oh I just did this, give me a second to look at my notes.

TETSXPREME:

ok

AZ:

Since it's taking her an awful long time to get her notes \(\Large\text{Slope} = \dfrac{\color{green}{y_2} - \color{orange}{y_1}}{\color{cyan}{x_2}-\color{red}{x_1}}\) where you have two points \(\Large (\color{red}{x_1}, \color{orange}{y_1})\) and \(\Large (\color{cyan}{x_2}, \color{green}{y_2})\) So your two points are \((\color{red}{-3}, \color{orange}{1})\) and \((\color{cyan}{1}, \color{green}{-2})\)

TETSXPREME:

i thought we did that yesterday?

AZ:

you don't say

AZ:

yet your question is once again about slope

TETSXPREME:

slope is a struggle

AZ:

life is a struggle

Timmyspu:

Indeed

TETSXPREME:

how do i make the points into a freactions tho?

Ybndrrrip17:

so you would just do it like this -3/1 and 1/-2

AZ:

|dw:1635960569587:dw| do you see the numbers match up

AZ:

replace them in the equation \(\bf\Large slope = \dfrac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2-x_1}\)

TETSXPREME:

-3

TETSXPREME:

D

TETSXPREME:

the answer is D

Ybndrrrip17:

yes like the fraction isnt negative the number its self is so for example you have -5,2 you just take -5 as your numerator and 2 as your denominator

AZ:

don't listen to him because you cannot make a point into a fraction he has no idea what he's saying

TETSXPREME:

oh

AZ:

@tetsxpreme wrote:

and no

TETSXPREME:

i just did what mr drip told me 2 do

AZ:

|dw:1635960793095:dw| Tet can you at least add and subtract numbers?

Ybndrrrip17:

i see where i messed up

AZ:

what is -2 - 1 = ? and what is 1 - (-3) = ?

TETSXPREME:

can i substract neg numbers?

AZ:

it would become addition

Ybndrrrip17:

but either your answer is a or c

AZ:

1 - (-3) is the same as 1 + 3

TETSXPREME:

so its 4?

AZ:

yes, so that's the denominator what about the numerator? what is -2 - 1 = ??

TETSXPREME:

3

AZ:

are you sure it's -3? if you have negative 2 and you're giving away something you don't have does your number become more positive or more negative

Ybndrrrip17:

when the signs in two numbers are the same its a positive

TETSXPREME:

positive

AZ:

no

TETSXPREME:

wait what?

AZ:

you owe me 2 dollars and now you owe me another dollar how many dollars do you owe me?

TETSXPREME:

3$

AZ:

yes but that's 3 dollars that you do NOT have so technically the amount of money that you have is NEGATIVE 3

AZ:

because you owe me three dollars

TETSXPREME:

but what if i have 10 buckz?

AZ:

you don't

TETSXPREME:

i do

AZ:

otherwise you wouldn't have needed to ask me for money

Ybndrrrip17:

Ok so hes saying that you dont have the 3$ so instead of a positive it would be a???

TETSXPREME:

ohhh

TETSXPREME:

so what am i supposed to figure out now?

AZ:

that's the numerator

TETSXPREME:

-3?

AZ:

and what's the bottom part of the fraction

Ybndrrrip17:

yes

Ybndrrrip17:

ok what was your other point

TETSXPREME:

-4

AZ:

@ybndrrrip17 wrote:
ok what was your other point
no

AZ:

@tetsxpreme wrote:
-4
and no, it wasn't negative

TETSXPREME:

i didnt mean 2 put the slash

Ybndrrrip17:

no im talking bout the -3 that you got in the last problem ik what your talking abt

AZ:

we got -3 for the numerator and 4 for the denominator

TETSXPREME:

A?

Ybndrrrip17:

yea exactly thats what im saying

Astrid1:

That should be correct.

AZ:

yes

Ybndrrrip17:

bc i said a or c

TETSXPREME:

Thank u

AZ:

you're welcome
