Can yall help me with this: As a class, we just finished J.D. Salinger’s short story For Esme - With Love and Squalor, and we are moving toward reading his often banned, and widely discussed, The Catcher in the Rye. Salinger is widely regarded as one of the greatest character writers of all time and enjoys exploring the themes of isolationism and the innocence of youth. In order to examine these themes in the real world, you will be conducting compare and contrast interviews and then explaining your findings. Part #1: Self-Assessment Your first interview will be a self-assessment. Answer the questions you will be asking your interviewees to establish a base for your written analyses. Answers should be complete sentences. Think about the answers you give. Having answers to these questions will serve you well as you prepare to accept job interviews for the next few years. Part #2: Adolescent Interview Your second interview will be with someone younger than you, it could be a sibling, a fellow student, or another individual of youth in your life. The questions provided may need to be altered to fit the individual you are interviewing. The way we talk to each other is different than how we speak with those much younger than us. Part #3: Adult Interview Your third interview will be with someone over the age of 40, it could be a grandparent, parent, or another adult in your life. The questions provided may need to be altered to fit the individual you are interviewing. The way we talk to each other is different than how we speak to our parents or grandparents. Part #4: World View Analysis After conducting these interviews, you will analyze how age impacts world view. Analyze how the answers of the adolescent are different than the adult you interviewed. How are they different, and why? How are they similar, and why? Discuss what was most striking in your findings, what did you not expect to find? Your response should be at least one page double spaced.
