Back with another WWII question, ha ha. I'm watching a few documentaries, and I'm reading a book, but this still is NOT enough for me! Are there any facts that I can't just find by researching? I know this might be a dumb question, but even some information that isn't very talked about? I am trying to get to know the subject of WWII as much as possible :) this will help me a lot in the future, and even in the present time! I just started actually getting into WWII history maybe 3 days ago? I was always into it, but never took the time to dig deep. I have watched around 2 documentaries this past hour, and I'm now reading a book all about it. If there are no facts that anyone could think of, are there any books I may be able to purchase and/or check out at my local library? Thank you to whoever is reading!

YouTube channels are the way to go. They are basically awesome YouTubers of all ages, walks of life, different degrees, etc. that teach people for fun.

Thank you! I've been trying to go on things like PBS sites which teach history, but a lot of it is either confusing, or not very helpful. I'll definitely check out YouTube soon, after I find out what channels I can trust.

TheRealIlnaz:

Bestie you've been typing for 10 minutes

Technical difficulties...

TheRealIlnaz:

OH. I thought you were lowkey writing out a roast.

You are welcome. There are many channels to look through with millions of subscribers and different focuses but I can list some excellent ones. Some are fellow students and others are even PhDs. YouTube can easily replace history teachers honestly especially if you want to avoid the state mandated crap teachers are kinda forced to teach. Knowledgia OverSimplified The Front (WW2 focus) Mark Felton (both channels focused on WW2) Simple History Armchair Historian Jazby Weird History HISTORY The Infographics Show History Dose History Matters

Thank you so much! i will put these in their own google doc and I'll check them out tomorrow after I finish the book I am reading right now! Thank you for the recommendations, I appreciate it :).

Echofire:

My pleasure and enjoy! These guys and many others are more free to teach better with less time than teachers forced to teach the typical state-mandated crap.

TheRealIlnaz:

You can tell history teachers don't enjoy talking about WWII or anything really, sorry. They'll hand you a book (in my case) and tell you to read and answer some questions.

Echofire:

If teachers could teach what they feel needs to be taught then they would do it. I think school higher-ups wouldn't like it if they found out their employees just showed YT videos all day. They get money to do whatever the oldheads tell them to make their teachers teach. Just my opinion from what I know.

TheRealIlnaz:

I just typed out an essay realizing it wasn't relating to anything you said. Oops. But yeah, I do agree. I feel like a lot of teachers don't get to teach what they want, instead having to do what the 'higher ups' ask of them.
