idfkaa:

what is daylight saving and why do we have it?

Su1cideSheep:

Well first off, I think it's stupid. Longer days, shorter night. Imma lose my beauty sleep. But we have it becasue we need to save energy and make better use of daylight. Which In my opinion it's terrible.

idfkaa:

so like do we go back like an hour or som

0mega:

Daylight savings time is the practice of advancing clocks during warmer months, so that darkness falls at a later time.

Flippy:

I have no clue. but its stupid and made me tired and mad all day.

Nightmoon:

Honestly - Daylight saving time is just for stupid things- no one needs it- it's not helping us with anything- Besides making people go nuts- ( it's to set clocks one hour ahead of time, to make it seem like there is more sunlight, in the: Spring, Summer, and fall evenings- )

Lemondragon555:

Idk but I am an early bird and mom keep my in bed early so now I’m up an hour earlier

xXAikoXx:

Daylight saving time is when the states set all local clocks one hour ahead... yes... you might've woken up for school today (EVEN MORE TIRED- heh.) than a regular day. (Especially when your mommma wakes you up at 5:00am) But it is practiced because it is required in order to make use of sunlight in warmer-cold seasons.

KyledaGreat:

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is the practice of moving the clock forward by one hour during the summer months in order to extend the evening daylight hours. This means that people will generally wake up and go to sleep an hour earlier than they would during the winter months. The purpose of DST is to make better use of the available daylight hours and to save energy by reducing the amount of artificial lighting needed in the evenings. The idea of DST dates back to the late 19th century and has been used by various countries around the world at different times. The modern concept of DST was first proposed by a New Zealand entomologist named George Hudson in 1895, who suggested it as a way to have more time for insect collection during the summer evenings. The practice was first implemented on a large scale during World War I as a way to conserve energy, and it has been used intermittently ever since. Today, DST is used in many countries around the world, although not all countries observe it. In the United States, DST begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November.

LillPerson:

We use it to align the time with the sky.

rossygg:

Fine af

reginae:

We change our clocks during the summer months to move an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.

TheKaylaHope:

The main reason for implementing DST is to save energy. By adjusting the clock, we can take advantage of longer daylight hours during the summer months. This means we can use less energy for lighting, heating, and other activities that we normally do when the sun sets. DST was first introduced during World War I as a way to conserve coal and increase productivity. Today, many countries around the world observe DST, but not all do and there is continuing debate about its effectiveness.
