Late response, answering to close. The first step is to find the charge of element X. It is in a neutral compound with 2 hydroxide ions. Because each hydroxide ions has a -1 charge, X must have a + 2 charge to balance it out. Now, starting with a), the sulfate ion (SO4)2- has a -2 charge. X has a + 2 charge as established before. So the formula would simply be XSO4. Repeat this logic for the other ions.
