helpp withh mathh again !! . From the ground, a rubber ball is thrown 20 feet into the air. If its rebound ratio is (7/10), how far will it have traveled during the first five bounces. a) 58.139 b) 960,341.857 c) 110.924 d) 55.462

unblock me I gotta tell u sum real important plzzzzzz or imma cryy

Midnight97:

When the ball is thrown into the air, it first travels 20 feet up and then falls back down 20 feet to the ground before it starts bouncing. This initial throw and fall accounts for 40 feet of travel (20 feet up and 20 feet down) The rebound ratio of 7/10 means that with each bounce, the ball reaches a height that is 7/10 times the height of the previous bounce

Midnight97:

For each bounce, the ball travels up and then back down, so we will multiply each bounce height by 2 (1 up and 1 down = 2) to get the total distance for that bounce. First bounce up: 20 x 7/10 = 14 First bounce down: just 14 Total for first bounce: 14 + 14 = 28

Ragtagirly:

The distance traveled during each bounce is given by the formula: Distance = Initial Height + Rebound Ratio × Initial Height Distance=Initial Height+Rebound Ratio×Initial Height For the first bounce, the initial height is 20 feet. For subsequent bounces, the initial height is the rebound distance from the previous bounce. Now, sum up these distances to get the total distance traveled during the first five bounces. When you do that you'd get A: 58.139

Midnight97:

Now let's do the second bounce. How high does it bounce on it's second bounce it bounces 7/10 of the previous bounce. It bounced 14 feet in the first bounce. So let's do 14 x 7/10 which will be 9.8 or 49/5

OH MY BAD ITS C

Midnight97:

And so it goes 9.8 up, and 9.8 down so 9.8+9.8=19.6 total for the second bounce

Ragtagirly:

Actually thats wrong to 💀

Ragtagirly:

But now i'm sure its D 💀

Let me work please

Midnight97:

so for this next bounce you just need to do: 9.8 x 7/10

Midnight97:

Which is 6.86

Midnight97:

So 6.86 up. 6.86 down. and 13.72 ft total (6.86+6.86) next bounce: 6.86 x 7/10 which is 4.774

luhivqqcherry:

ohhhh .

Midnight97:

Whatever up and down equals a total of 9.604 ft for the round So 4.802 x 7/10 equals 3.3614

Midnight97:

That happens up and down so you get 6.7228 ft total, so now we add 40 + 28 + 19.6 + 13.72 + 9.604 + 6.7228 which equals 117.6468

OHHHH I GET IT .

Midnight97:

So your answer is C

luhivqqcherry:

OH YAYAYYAY TYTYTYSMM .

luhivqqcherry:

I HAVE 2 MORE MATH QUESTIONS .

Midnight97:

Okay
