gelphielvr:

Is it normal to hallucinate small animals and their noises, or should I get this checked out? for context I've been "seeing" and "hearing" rats in my room during the night but the thing is they're not there. They rats always disappear less than 10 seconds after seeing them and I always see them alone. Whenever they disappear I don't hear anything anymore, even if they just went to a different part of my room.

CloverKris:

You could have rats inside the walls. My old house used to have the same. The reason you stop hearing them is because they frequently stop to watch for predators.

i don't think that's it. I'm the only one in my family who hears them and the sound sounds like its from the middle of my room not from the walls. thank you tho

No problem! I hope you find your answer soon.

No, it’s not normal to see or hear things that aren’t there, even briefly. Hallucinations like you're describing (seeing and hearing rats that vanish quickly) can be caused by a number of things

Twaylor:

I see bugs constantly that aren't there from trauma/shock a while back, itll be fine after a while

BlkOps77:
