The point (0, -3.5) lies on the line 11x – 6y = 21. Determine if this point is a solution of the system 11x – 6y = 21 9x + 8y = 43

You can figure out if a given point is a solution to a system by seeing if it makes both equations `true'. That is to say, plug the x and y values in the point into each of the two equations and see if the left side is in fact equal to the right side. If it isn't for either or both of the equations, then it is not a solution.
