express f(t) in terms of the unit step function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f(t) = t ^{2} , 0\le t < 2\]\[f(t) = 1 , t \ge 2\]

i know that \[u _{c}(t) = 0, t \le c ; = 1, t \ge c\] so to get \[t ^{2}\] you could write the function as \[f(t) = t^{2} (1 - u _{c} (t))\] but it wont necessarily work for the "off" part to be equal to 1
