solve the differential equation y`=((cscx+secx)^2)/((cscx)^2*(secx)^2) with y(0)=-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to pull the power out of the entire fraction, then simplify getting (sinx+cosx)^2. Then solve by separation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain how to pull out the power of the entire fraction..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's basic exponent properties. Your denominator has a square in each multiple, so the square has always been distributed. Just pull it out so you're squaring the whole thing. And then similarly, when squaring fractions, the square is distributed into top and bottom. So pull the square out again and now inside the bracket you have simple division so you can split the fraction and simplify.
