A 10 ohm resistor is connected across a 120V rms sinusoidal 60Hz line. what value is the closest to the average current flowing in the resistor between t=0 and t=.0042 sec? (Hint V=120√(2)sin120pi t)
Convert the 120 RMS to Average, divide by the 10 Ohm resistor.
Thank you!!!!!
radar can you help me ?
There is a conversion factor, but I do it the hard way first I convert RMS to Peakk, then peak to Average 120 x 1.414 = 170 peak, then multiply 170 x .6366 = 108 avg volts. The rest is history.
Oh Oh looking up at your original you are asking for the instantaneous avg current at two specific times. I was just computing the overall average current for 1/2 cycle. You are making the problem difficult or at least someone Is. Note the multiplying of 120 by the sqrt of 2 This is the conversion to pk voltage.
I am going to have to do some review! I will get back to you.
Hey Radar,Thank you for your replays.I get it after your first replay. Some nick name Emy mistakenly did ask you for help on my page.
O.K. alma1969. But I am stumped for the time being.
