crickets tend to chirp more frequently as the temperature rises. The explanatory variable is number of chirps per second and the response variable is measured in degrees fahrenheit. here is the regression equation based on data collected for a random sample of 15 crickets. y(hat)=25.2+3.29(x). What is the proper interpretation of the slope? a. chirps per second increase at the rate of 3.29% for each addition degree F, on average. b. temperature increases by about 25 degrees for each addition chirp produced per cricket. c. an increase of 3.29 chirps per second corresponds to a change of one deg

c.

please show the steps

3.29 is the chirps per second... It is linear so as you increase the x by one the y goes up by 3.29 so I would tell you that c is not correct, but b is definitely wrong... I guess if you only have 3 options, a must be correct.

I've another option d. temp increases by an average of 3.29 degrees F for each addition chirp produced per second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is it... because the slope is found in front of the x, the slope is 3.29 that means if you were graphing you would go up 3.29 and over 1 which means the y axis goes up by 3.29 every time the x increases by 1.

okay...thank you
