The volume v=4/3 pi r ^3 for spherical balloon changes with respect to r. at what rate in^3/in does the volume change with respect to r=3in? I actually know how to get this its 36 pi the part b is how much does the volume increase from 3 to 3.3in? I have the answers just don't know how to get there? the answers are 33.93 and 37.44

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the spherical baloon exercise from every calc book in print... i recognize it well :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you integrate the volume bounded by those values for r, youll get the increase i think

OpenStudy (amistre64):

probably was wrong.... the volume itself is the equation that they gave you. You want to subtract the volume at r=3 from the volume at r=3.3 V(3.3) - V(3) = amount of change in volume

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i do V(3.3)-V(3.0) i don't get 33.93 or 37.44????

OpenStudy (amistre64):

let me try... (4/3)pi(3.3)^3 - (4/3)pi(3^3) 47.916pi - 36pi is the amount of volume that the ballon changes by from 3 to 3.3 inches 11.916pi .... maybe i dont understand the question... but this would be the change in volume from 3inch radius to a 3.3 inch radius.... or is it asking for a speed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess i don't know it asks by how much does the volume increase from 3.0 to 3.3. I thought the way you solved it was correct since that's what i did the first time and got the question wrong... i will have to go back and look...thanks for your help
