OpenStudy (lgg23):

1. This experiment deals with the relationship between volume and temperature for a fixed amount of gas at constant pressure. Design an experiment, which would allow you to study the relationship between pressure and temperature for a fixed amount of gas at constant volume. Show a diagram of the apparatus and a plot of P versus T for the data you expect to obtain. Is the relationship between P and T direct or inverse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow that is a complex question. Your experiment should keep one thing constant and measure the other. So vary the temp and measure the pressure. You will get a set of data that relates pressure with temp.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PV = nRT So P and T are directly proportional.

Yep, these experiments are one of either Boyle-Mariottte's, Gay-Lussac'a or Charles' law.
