You're doing fine, but I'm trying to take it one step at a time and lead you to the concepts that will allow you to solve these quickly and easily. I think part of the problem is that you imagine that you just aren't going to be able to understand and therefore try to just guess at a solution to get it over with.

G(x) = x is just a line passing through the origin. When x = 0, G(x) = 0, when x = 1, G(x) = 1, and so on.
