point of discontinuity for y = cot x, [0, 2pi]

Just look at the graph of cot in any calculus or trig book. It would be obvious to you.
How about for 3-x/x^2+2
Remember the denominator, the thing at the bottom can not be equal to zero. There is this crazy rule in math you can't divide by 0. So set x^2+2=0 Solve for zero. Discontinuity at those points.
how about (x-1) ^ {1/3}
It looks like an incredible function but it is really a play on a function like x^3. And I think you are familiar with that function. If not look in the first chap of any calculus book and you will see a picture of that function.
