A sample of 36 homeowners who recently hired a landscpaping sercived yielded the following info about their landscapper. Number of owners 22- yes would recoomend to more friends.5 would not. and 9 are not sure. 3 homeowners who provided info were selected at random. Dtermine the pro they would all recomend their landcapper. What is the pro that 3 homeowners would recomend their landscapper?

OpenStudy (m):

(33/36)(32/35)(31/34)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of the one who would recommend

OpenStudy (m):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so all them or just one?

OpenStudy (m):

that is the probability of all 3 homeowner randomly selected will recommend their landscaper

OpenStudy (m):

you just hav eto multiply the fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mulplying them all?

OpenStudy (m):

(33x32x31)/(36x35x34)

OpenStudy (m):

but it's easier to do it with factorials

OpenStudy (m):

33!/[(36-33)!(30!)]

OpenStudy (m):

crap made a mistake lol it's 22x21x20/36x35x34

OpenStudy (m):

just think probability of first person selected that would recommend landscaper is 22/36, then second is 21/35 since 1 recommender is already picked. then 20/34 since two recommenders are already picked

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but wouldnt it come to one answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like one fraction alone?

OpenStudy (m):

9240/42840 if u multiply the fractions i gave u then u get that

OpenStudy (m):

that is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

395841600?

OpenStudy (m):

no it's 0.2156 or 21.56%
