Could someone please answer this question The gradient of a curve is (6x^2)+(12x^1/2). The curve passes through the point (4,10). Find the equation of the curve. thanks :)
gradient is slope ?
im not sure but i think it is because whenever i mention gradient people go on about slopes :p
hello miss, i couldn't understand the question. can you write it in the same way as in your assignment
\[6x ^{2}+12\sqrt{x}\]
q6) The gradient of a curve is (6x^2)+(12x^1/2). The curve passes through the point (4,10). Find the equation of the curve. (5marks)
\[6x^2+12x^0.5\]
in which standard you are miss???
what do you mean? what standard?
which class??
AS=Alevel why?!
just to know how deep i have to go answering this question
oh, so you know how to do it :) yay!
i know how to do such question but something is odd in this question
what?
nothing!! okay, tell me what you mean by slope of a curve???
the gradient
and that that gradient passes through that equation and i need to use the points to make and equation this is what i assume
i think from the gradient/slope a curve, one mean the slope of the tangent line at any point of the curve
but the points are 4,10
hmm, how you find the slope of the curve???
are you getting the hint????
i think you now know, how to solve this question. if you still face problem then post it here and i'll solve it for you.
what hint? i still dont get it
okay, tell me how you find the slope of the curve
y2-y1/x2-x1
that's the way to find the slope of a straight line :P
i asked for curve (in general)
huh? soz dunno what ur talkin about the equation?
do you know differentiation and integration???
not sure :S i get confused with them both
wait, differentiation finds the gradient, doesnt it
if differentiation of the curve equation finds the gradient (as you said) then will the integration of the gradient equation gives the curve equation???
this is really confusing :(
