how many integer values of (a) can x^2+ax+6 be factored? What are they?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think of factors of 6. you have 1,6; 2,3. The first gives you a=7; second gives you a=5. Then also include the negatives (-1,-6), etc. so -7 and -5 also. That gives you 4 possible a values. hope this helps.
