Find the vertices of the hyperbola with the equation (x-1)^2/ 4 - (y+2)^2/9 Please help!!!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the vertices lie on .... a with this one

OpenStudy (amistre64):

since x is + we look under it to find our answer; sqrt(4) = 2 we are 2 away from center in the x direction

OpenStudy (amistre64):

center = ( 1,-2) vertex = (+- 2,0) -------------------- (3,-2) and (-2,-2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

opps; -1 and 3; forgot how to count lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(3,-2) and (-1,-2)
