hi all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need some help with some math :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If sin theta = 8/9, 0<theta<Pi/2, find the exact value of each of the following. sin2theta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin^2theta+cos^2theta=1 we know tht sin theta = 8/9, therefore sin^2theta = 64/81 by re arrnging we get cos^2theta = 1 - 64/81 cos^2 theta = 17/81 cos theta = sqrt(17)/9 sin2theta=2sin theta x cos theta =2sin(8/9)x cos(sqrt(17)/9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a times between x and cos?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it is a times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct answer was 16sqrt17/81 :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i get another shot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If sin(theta)=1/6, 0<(theta)<Pi/2, find the exact value for each of the following. sin(2theta)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats the answer sintheta = 8/9 cos theta=sqrt(17)/9 2(8/9) x sqrt(17)/9 =16sqrt17/81
