the length of a curve is given by integrating sqrt(1+[f'x]^2) and can get really ugly

OpenStudy (amistre64):

f' = 1/6sqrt(x) in this case so we square it to get... 1/36x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

36x+1 sqrt ------ to integrateif i did it right 36x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sqrt(36x+1) (x^1/2) ---------- 6
