sin^-1(sin(2pi/3))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sin^-1(x) is the inverse of sin(x) so sin^-1(sin(2pi/3)) is just 2pi/3. This is an equivalent concept such as sqrt(x^2) (which is just x).

that's what I thought, lol, but I wasn't sure...it seemed so obvious.

Its okay, sometimes the easiest answer is the correct one xD

OpenStudy (nikvist):

\[\arcsin{x}:\,[-1.1]\,\rightarrow\,[-\pi/2,\pi/2]\] \[\arcsin(\sin(2\pi/3))=\arcsin(\sqrt{3}/2)=\pi/3\]

OpenStudy (nikvist):

\[\arcsin{(\sin{x})}=x\,\,,\,\,-\frac{\pi}{2}\leq x\leq\frac{\pi}{2}\]
