(sec(x))(tan(x))(sin(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(tanx)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

secx sinx is tanx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is tan^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i have another question i have tan(-x)/(sec(x)-cos(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be sinx or -sinx? am i on the right track?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1/sinx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -cscx?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain how you got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tan(-x) = -sinx/cosx and secx - cosx = [1-cos^2 x]/cosx when u divide the two you get -sinx/sin^2 x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay, and they cancel out leaving you with -1/sin okay thank you. you've helped so much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome
