there are some rules in geometry to work out with parallel lines:: corresponding angles are always equal vertically opposite angles are always equal alternate interior and exterior angles are also equal so on........... THESE ONLY WORK WHEN PARALLEL LINES ARE CUT BY A TRANSVERSAL LINE
