just replace 1/r^2 by r(vector)/r^3 in coulombs law.

E and r are vectors, E is electric field, r is position vector. \[E = 1/(4\pi \epsilon _{0})(qr/||r||^3)\]

abtrehearn - careful, that's not Coulomb's law.... Coulomb's law gives the vector force exerted by one charge on another, not the electric field... E vector = F vector/q, force per unit charge
