what is the most polar, C-N, C-O, C-C, C-Cl, C-F

C-F

Polarity is proportional to the difference in electronegativity (Δχ). All of the above take the form C-(something else). Since carbon is the same in each molecule, all you need to focus on is the non-carbon atom. The molecule with the most electronegative non-carbon atom will be the most polar. Here are a couple of formulae that might be useful:\[\mu=\frac{Q}{r}\quad \bigg| \quad Q=\frac{\mu}{r}\quad\bigg|\quad \%_{ionic\space character}=\frac{Q}{e}=\frac{\mu}{re}=\bigg(1-exp\bigg(\frac{-1}{4}(\Delta\chi)^2\bigg)\bigg)\]\[\mu\text{ = dipole moment; Q = partial charge; r = distance; }\chi\text{ = electronegativity}\]\[\text{e = elementary charge}\]
