I'm having trouble differentiating between the future and conditional tenses in French. Any tricks for remembering?
futur proche uses the conjugated form of "aller" and the infinatif of the verb you are wanting.
nop... The difference between both is small... the general formation is : verb + ir/er + ... just remember conditional get the same end as "imparfait" (especially true with plural!
Le futur is; ai/as/a/ons/ez/ont Bonne chance/good luck
Basically only the ending is different. Thats how I remember it. Future Tense: The infinitive of the verb(1) plus the avoir ending (present tense)(2). Eg: Parler - to talk I will talk 1) Parler 2) ai =Parlerai He will talk 1)Parler 2)a =Parlera Conditional: The same as future tense but instead of the ending being the present tense of avoir, its the imperfect tense. Eg: Parler - to talk I will talk 1) Parler 2) ais =Parlerais He will talk 1)Parler 2)ait =Parlerait
