A satellite in the earth's orbit maintains a panel of solar cells of 2m*2 area @ right angle to the sun rays. Assuming that solar radiation is monochromatic with a wavelength of 550nm and given that rate per unit area @ which the sun delivers energy to the satellite is 1390Wm*2. What rate (1) solar energy (2)solar energy photons strike the panel?? a lil help plz a hint??

Calculate what the energy of each photon of 550 nm is. You know that the solar constant refers to 1390 joules per second per square meter. Determine how much energy the solar panel area absorbs per second. Then work out how many photons of 550 nm are required to make up this energy.

E = nhc/(wavelength)
