a weigh it atached to a spring and is suspended from the ceiling so that it lies 30cm from the ceiling when it is at rest. the spring is stretched so that the wieght is 38cm from the ceiling, and is then released. it bounces up AND down for a while . eash time it comes to the bottom of its bouce the lenght of the stretch is 75% of the prevouse strech the period of each bounce of of thw wieght is 1/2 second . write a eqution that reprensent the distance from the weight to ceiling ?
its gonna be a cosine .... yeah something like that :)
wait sorry that doesn't account for t=0
.75*2t*8cos(4pi*t)+30
i knew i was missing something, wasn't sure about whether to use exponent or not. thank you
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=Plot%5B0.75^%282+t%29+8+Cos%5B4+Pi+t%5D+%2B+30%2C+ {t%2C+0%2C+10}%5D
\[8*0.75^{2t} \cos (4 \pi t)+30\]
thank you
LOL, I just tried to answer this in one of it's other postings and completely forgot the m goes away with the mg (ended up with Sin and Cos). Knew there was some reason I didn't like mechanics:-) I
the one is advnace functions
are you sure that equation it right because when i try to graph it i get comething looling very diffrent
(8*.75^2x)*cos(4π*x)+30
Your amplitude should diminished as time passed
