help me please

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

with what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x an y are 2 matrices x=(-2 0 5 1) an y=(4 3 -1 7) evulate x square+y

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

okay.. hold on..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

\[\left[\begin{matrix}-2 & 0 \\ 5 & 1\end{matrix}\right]*\left[\begin{matrix}-2 & 0 \\ 5 & 1\end{matrix}\right]+\left[\begin{matrix}4 & 3 \\ -1 & 7\end{matrix}\right]\] is that what you want?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea that is what is it

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

okay first do matrix multiplication row times column basically: [ (-2)*(-2) + 0*5 (-2*0)+0*1] [ 5*(-2)+1*5 5*0+1*1 ]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

The left matrix becomes: [ 4 0] [-5 1]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

now find the sum, just add up the corresponding entries: \[\left[\begin{matrix}4 & 0 \\ -5 & 1\end{matrix}\right]+\left[\begin{matrix}4 & 3 \\ -1 & 7\end{matrix}\right]\]

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

[ 8 3 ] [ -6 8 ]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Please click on Good Answer if I helped, I want to get to the next level, thanks =)!

OpenStudy (anonymous):
