A distribution has the five-number summary shown below. What is the third quartile, Q3, of this distribution? 11, 21, 32, 43, 52

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you will have to find the median

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so to get the median you would do 5+1 divide by 2 which will give us the position of the median

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the median is the 3rd number 32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the 3rd qtr we will have to find the median for the upper quartile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the numbers in the upper quartile are 32, 43, 52 so there are 3 numbers so we will do 3+1 divide by 2 and we get 2 which is the position of the 3rd qtr which is 43

thanks you so much for explaining how to find the third quartile
