i have a patient that was in a stationary car that was hit by a car with a speed of 33miles per hour. How would i figure the force on the driver of the stationary car?

the impact on him would be the change of momentum, momentum = mass * velocity so it would depend on the mass of the two cars.

Your problem seems complex. a force is the derivative of quantity of movement : \[F(t)=d (m.v(t) )/dt\] Thanks to jimmyrep, we can know "v" : the speed of the car after the choc. But if you don't know the mass and the time required for the total transmission of the mechinal energy, it would be hard to calculate a force.

So maybe, try to solve your problem in other way. Not force, but perhaps momentum is better.
