so you got x=60 for the low so you plug in 60 into the equation and you should get your answer for how many tickets will be sold on the low
OpenStudy (anonymous):
same with the high
OpenStudy (anonymous):
there are 2 solutions to the equation
OpenStudy (anonymous):
because of the quadratic equation only produces 2 answers
OpenStudy (anonymous):
well correction one answer is probably negative so it would not work correctly

thats really all i remember
OpenStudy (anonymous):
in the equation is this where i would divide 60 ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x=60 you stated that for the low and stated it peaks at x=1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
all you need to do is plug in x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
most people dont realize that they can use that aspect of basic algebra in the problem

its still so confusing to me ive been working this problem for over a week and still not done
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so for example if i were to give you the equation 2= 2x+1 and gave you x=1/2 you would just plug in the 1/2 instead of solving it correct? its the same concept
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i hated intermediate algebra didnt do well in it but im a regular genius in trig
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so i put in 60 for x and follow order of operation and that will be the answer?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[0.2(60)^{2}+12(60)+11\]

is that correct?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
exactly
OpenStudy (anonymous):
im hoping i does give a 0 though
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it shouldnt
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-12+720+11

dont forget the negative!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1451?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it was a positive or does the sign change
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the equation was -.2x^2+12x+11 correct?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you shouldve gotten 721 as an answer for the low if it is 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[0.2x ^{2}+12x+11\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thats the original equation
OpenStudy (anonymous):
why is it negative in the document?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it is my fault
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the only problem with your work is that you are suppose to end up with less with the low then the high you end up with 22.8 on the high

OpenStudy (anonymous):
or 23.2 with that new equation
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so then which one is wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and when i use the quadratic equation im getting -.903 and 60.903
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so are you saying everything i have so far is wrong?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the low is on the first day and the high is on the last day it seems

OpenStudy (anonymous):
so the 721 is also wrong then
OpenStudy (anonymous):
that your high is what imsaying
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok so 721 is the high
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes and 22.8 is the low based on the equation -.2x^2+12x+11
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do we know how to get the point of vertex?
