2. An object is initially at rest and starts to accelerate uniformly at 3 m/s2 at time t = 0 s. At time t = 8 s, what would be the distance travelled by the object?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(s=v_0t + \frac{1}{2}at^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry can you put it in simpler terms? I dont get it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[v_0 = 0\] \[a = 3\] \[t=8\] Now Solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

s is the displacement / distance travelled v\(_0\) is the initial velocity (the object starts at rest, so this is 0). t is the time taken for this movement to occur (8 seconds) a is the acceleration (\(3 ms/s^2)\) Just plug the values into the equation, and you'll get your answer quickly.
