Which gives u more sheilding effect????? D orbital or F orbital

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d orbital as compare to f because in f orbital more num of protons so more poor sheiding effect....an f-orbital elements have more num of protons as compare to d.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

strongest sheilding effect is seen in s orbitals and among the element hydrogen

OpenStudy (preetha):

Well, the d orbital shields better than a f orbital because the d orbital penetrates closer to the nucleus and thus is able to shield better. Orbitals do not have protons, I think you meant electrons.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d orbital, especially \[Zn ^{0}\]
