How do i subtract fractions , can someone break it down to me please?

that is how i would do it if the denominators are different
No , because i forgot how to do it . And I'm going in to high school and i forgot what i learned . No i will be here forever , i just need someone to break it down for me . Lmaoo
if they are the same just subtract in the numerator, leave the denominator alone
for example \[\frac{2}{5}-\frac{1}{7}=\frac{2\times 7-1\times 5}{5\times 7}\]
you still have to compute. i would get \[\frac{14-5}{35}=\frac{9}{35}\]

so a fraction has both a numer ator and a denomianter. the numerator is the top part of the fraction and the denominator is the bottom part...whatever the probeem is (subtraction or addition) you need to make the denominators of both fractions the same by multiplying each fractions numberator and demominator by a number that makes the denomiators equal ...heres an example ..if you have5/8 - 3/4 ..then to make both denomiatros the same you multiply the 3 of the 3/4 fraction by 2 and the 4 of the 3/4 fraction by two...then you finnish solving the problem by subtraction 6 from 5 and your answer will be -1/4
