Calcium chloride is often used to de-ice roads in the winter. What volume would 15.7 g calcium chloride occupy? (density = 2.50 g/cm^3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is simple division. Take the amount of grams, and divide by the density of 2.50 grams per cubic centimeter to get your answer.

See the answer in the Chem section where you also asked :) Pretty much as stated above. The goal is to cancel like units so you end up with the units you want. When you divide by (g/cm^3) it becomes the inverse (cm^3/g). When you multiply that by a weight in grams the grams cancel leaving you with cm^3 which is the volume you seek.
