a mass of ikg is attached to a spring produce an extension of 0.1cm. its spring constant is 100N/m 10N/m 1000N/m 1N/m
f=-kx f=kx k=f/x k=(1*10)/(0.1*10^-2)= 10,000 N/m but this choice is not availble
IS it 1 kg?
no its answer is 100
From which book are you asking this question? and secondly which combination are you studying in F.Sc.
first year book of fsc
which page?
are you premed or pre-engr?
i m prepare entry test this question is book kips
i m premed
i get it .......you are on the chapter from oscillations?
yes
the mass is 1 kg..... g=10m/s^2......so the external force acting on the spring is 10 newton
the extention in the string is 0.1cm=0.1*10^-2
divide the first by the second what do you get in N/m?
10/(0.1*10-2) = 10*100*10=10000 N/m definitely......unofficial entry test book not issued by testing authority can have lots of errors....
f=mg=kx 0.1cm=.001m 1kg*10m/s^2=k*0.001m 10N/.001m=10000N/m
The above options are incorrect because. 1kg*10m^s2=! 1000N/m*.001m or 100N/m *.001m and etc
