An ion with 2+ charge, has 10% more protons than electrons. Identify the element.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The charge is based on the protons. Since we have 10% more protons the 2+ charge is represented by this. \[0.1x=2\] \[x=\frac{2}{0.1}=20\] So we know the number of protons is 20 which is Calcium. So we're looking specifically at \[Ca^{2+}\]
