how to find vertical asymptote of f(x)=1/x^2 and on calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

verticle retricemotote is at x=0 because that's where function is indeterminant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it because it says ERROR on the calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can't divide by 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so for x^2-2/x^2-x-2 would equal to vertical asymptote of -1 and 2 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right! x^2 - x -2 factors into (x -2 )(x+1)=0 so vertical retricemtote is at x=-1, 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it should read "asymtote"
