Does anyone know what inorganic chemical catalyst can be used to speed up the redox reaction of hydrogen peroxide?
iodide
How sure are you?
Got it from a book. Are you actually going to make a solution?
Ah, brilliant. Thank you. We catalyzed a reaction today in lab, but we used catalase.
okay, what chem is this , organic?
Actually, this is for AP Bio.
yeah, i knew it, that kind of question comes up in biology. What are you working on, substrate catalyst.
Yep! And metabolism.
those are intresting topics, wait till you start talking about the cell, and mitosis and miosis
Those I can handle! I'm absolutely hating what we're doing now though :( I don't understand it!
metabolism, and enzyme is easy, just make sure to read your textbook and also ask your teacher questions. But once you get deep into the process of misosis and mitosis like G1 G2....... and you have to do the krebs cycle then it gets kinda tough to rember where we lose 1 electron or where the cell splits
but i am sure you can handle it
Yeah, that part isn't too terribly difficult for me to remember or understand. The textbook is just so dry and boring and the content is so complex. I'm really struggling with it right now, but hopefully we'll get out of the chem section of bio soon.
Also, I have another question for you! Why do you have to measure the rate of reaction for an enzyme at the very beginning?
chem section is good to understand though, because there are so many complex chemical reactions going on in the body, take a look at the process of photosynthesis (i am sure you have gone over this) and also the krebs cycle and engery tranportation. Make sure you understand the chem involved
And about the second question?
why? because the enzyme is going to be used up throughout the reactions, we will not be able to obtain a rate after the enzyme is used up
an enzyme is used up in a reactions
Ah yes. You are amazing <3 Thank you!
Lagrange! I need your help again!
okay, let me see if i can help
Okay, the question is: You mix 55 mL of 1.00 M silver nitrate with 25 mL of 0.65 M sodium chloride. What mass of silver chloride should you form?
What do you think? Do you know how to do these?
