what is the power dissapation for a series circuit that has 10V ,1.0 Kohms ,6.8 Kohms

OpenStudy (nikvist):

\[P=\frac{U^2}{R_1+R_2}\quad;\quad U=10V\quad,\quad R_1=1k\Omega\quad,\quad R_2=6.8k\Omega\]

12.82 ?

OpenStudy (nikvist):

12.82mW

Total resistance = 1000 ohms + 6800 ohms = 7800 ohms. Hence current flow = Voltage / Total Resistance = 10 / 7800 = 1.28 x 10^-3 Amps = 1.28 mA. this is what i got
