How do I figure out which intervals on a graph is g continuous.
usually by looking at the graph and seeing if it has breaks or not
if its by equation, the type of equation determines continuity
and if its piece wise defined .... than id just toss it out and kick the teacher
The graph has a lot of breaks. It also has solid dots and open dots, do the dots have a meaning
solid dots means the graph equals it; a hollow dot means that it approaches it, but never equals it
if the graph is broken up; then the intervals in which it is not broken up are continuus
Okay now how do i know when to use ( or ]
do you recall what an = sign look like? :)

yes
think of the square brackets as an equals sign with a bar
the only other option you got is a not equals ... so that has to be the (
Okay so if it is an open dot, I would use )
yep
Awesome, thanks a lot
